Phil Taylor visited Mackay as a participant in the Pro Darts Showdown Series on the weekend. The 16 time world champion's visit was eagerly anticipated by local darts enthusiasts. Mackay hosted the final leg of the tour at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre.

Mackay residents enjoyed another music festival today with a superb lineup of Australian entertainers from across a variety of genres. In it's second year, The Grass is Greener Music Festival looks set to become an annual event. Music loving Security Officers from Pyramid Security Services were there to ensure everyone was able to have the awesome time they attended for.

Mackay was lucky enough to host the first concert of Sir Elton John's Once in a Lifetime regional cities tour. 15,000 people attended including ticket holders from overseas and interstate. Pyramid Security was proud to assist Pauly's Security Service in keeping the excited crowd safe so everyone could enjoy the night. The excitement continued on Saturday with a large attendance at the Still Standing street party held in honour of the visit.

There was great excitement in Mackay with the State of Origin Fan Day being held on Wednesday. Many exhuberant fans, young and old attended and grabbed the chance to chat with their footie heroes. This event was followed by the Footy Show broadcasting live on Thursday night which was an enormously enjoyable evening. Our experienced team of Security Officers maintained good control of the happy crowds at both the Fan Day Luncheon and the Footy Show Live events at the MECC. We wish our Maroons the all the best for the next game in Sydney.

A huge crowd attended this year's Gargett Rodeo. It was a day full of fun and plenty of action.

The event went off with only a few minor incidents involving a few losing their drinking privileges. LOL. The team did a great job considering we were under booked by at least 6 staff. Hope to be back there in 2018.
